CHICOPEE – The City of Chicopee has two (2) events scheduled as the City remembers September 11th. The City of Chicopee encourages residents to join in these solemn observances on the seventeenth-year anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks.

The Chicopee Fire Department and Police Department will join departments across the country in conducting a remembrance ceremony on Tuesday, September 11, 2018. The ceremony will be held at the Chicopee Public Safety Complex, located at 80 Church Street. This will commemorate the seventeenth-year anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, and the subsequent losses suffered at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and in Pennsylvania.

The Ceremony is scheduled to begin at 9:45AM. The Chicopee Fire Department would like to invite local leaders and community members in remembering all those that were lost on September 11th.

Beginning at 7:00PM that evening, a Memorial Mass honoring the departed souls who perished on September 11th will be held at the Holy Name of Jesus Parish in the Assumption of the BVM Church located at 94 Springfield Street, Chicopee, MA 01013. All are welcomed to attend this Memorial Mass; a light reception will follow in the parish hall.
