Provisions and Preparing for the Massachusetts Pay Equity Law
 

If you think your pay practices are okay simply because you are paying people comparably within the same job, think again.  July 2018, marks the effective date of the Massachusetts Pay Equity Law.  This law is redefining what it means to pay employees in a fair and equitable manner and it is forcing Massachusetts  employers to closely re-examine their pay practices across positions that are "substantially similar" in scope.  What is your real risk? When is it okay to pay people differently?    This briefing will outline some of the common causes for pay inequities, the impact of the Massachusetts  Pay Equity Law on pay practices and we will discuss strategies for auditing your current pay practices and corrective action strategies to help you mitigate risk.
